>>Why do democraps continue and repub's resign. Another scandal from years ago which I previously mentioned.<<

Jim -

So full of Christian love you are.

And thanks for bringing up scandals from the 70's. That's realy relevant.

To be fair, both Congressman in the story you quoted tried to keep their jobs, as did Foley, who kept the coverup going (with the help of Republican leadership) as long as he could.

Rep. Crane did not "quit" at any point. He ran for reelection and lost.

Rep. Studds' relationship was with a consenting adult, which makes a big difference, and thus he was not only allowed to stay on in his job by the Congressional leadership, but also by the voters of his district.

So the record really doesn't support your idea the Democrats stay on while Republicans quit.

- Allen

Foley resigned because he violated the very same laws he championed. He resigned at the urging of the republican leadership no doubt. Do you think the republicans need a pedophile hypocrite to defend while they're busy trying to justify illegal wars and torture?

The Republican party during the years you mention were not the "holier than thou" party. Republican party members did not utter phrases like "Godless", "sinful" when they spoke of their opponents. There was no Jerry Falwell or Pat Robertson in the forefront of the Republican party then.

But nowadays, the party has those religious personas dominate the frontlines. They get away with calling for assassinations of foreign leaders. A "man of Gad" talking about taking a life!!! And the Republican leaders are OK with it.

So let us keep this discussion in perspective. It is similar to blaming someone like Clinton for the failures of Bush in his war against terrorism, Iraq and the 9/11 incident.

When will Bush say "The Buck Stops Here"
