I don't think his record is poor in the short term.

IIRC, Citi was bold enough to put apple on the focus list prior to last quarters numbers. This in contrast to Goldman who issued a horrible "reduce" rating on apple about a week before the numbers.

Citi may be just executing a standard profit taking methodology, I don't know. But they were long, at the right time.
