Geode, you need remedial reading lessons. I was defending the word "children" against an abusive adult who was perverting the English language.

I also pointed out some facts about 17 year old "children".

I don't know anything about Foley and don't care to.

I think this website might have some bearing on the present situation. It says the law in DC was repealed but that before it was repealed the age of consent was 16. If the boy was old enough to give his consent, what was this man guilty of? other than bad taste. Since Gerry Studds actually had sex with his "little boy" (he was a Democrat) and his penalty was censure and to be elected for 3 more terms, what exactly should the penalty be for someone who confessed and resigned. If it is to be more than what the Congress gave Studds, should Studds be tried for his crimes? It looks like someone needs to take a long hard look at the age of consent laws.
