The E10 did boost the milage in the meter reader's cars. Pretty wide test as there are over 1 million homes in the co-op. To get the same power with E85 you have to boost the compression and if some idiot uses E10 it will blow the engine up. Does the ethanol have power? Watch the next Indy 500, turning laps of 225 burning corn.

But back to the original use of 10% ethanol, it cuts way back on pollution from cars.
