Technically Foley is just a gay pervert. In order to qualify as pedophilia, the person must be much younger. He was not accused of approaching pages in his office over which he could exert control. I am not sure that is much solace. I briefly expressed interest in becoming a page when I was in school. My father immediately sat me down and educated me about the "Roman" culture of Congress. It was enough to extinguish my interest. Sad as it is to say, Foley's crime is not what he did, but when he did it. Thirty years ago the behavior was widely accepted and practiced. It is very revealing to read the same people who defended Clinton and who routinely call conservatives homophobes attacking Foley and trying to blame his behaviors on his colleagues. Partisans have once again flushed themselves out.
