May be IJ should tell Henry Samueli: how about if QCOM just buy your company while it is only $ 15 B market cap? Synergy between the two companies and all legal clouds are removed. Good for all shareholders.

Threaten BRCM with a preliminary injunction, raise the stakes. General thrust and parry of a battle. Keep Broadcomm and its counsel occupied before the mediation. Help educate the judge early in the case with facts rather than just allegations, try to get the judge to see BRCM in bad light before getting to trial. Try to get the judge to see weakness of BRCM's case early on. Lots of tactical benefits, as BA Wayne asks, by getting the judge to be familiar with the issues piecemeal instead of all at once.
