I don't know if the wagging and posturing and threatening and scaremongering will work this time around. They managed 50.x% in 2000 and 2004, but this one is a very close call.

On the flip side, it is the Dems contest to lose, and they have proven their ability to do that repeatedly.

Well, there is N. Korea's claim of an impending nuclear test.

I really resent the smoke screen that Foley put up by checking into an alcoholic treatment center. He may very well abuse alcohol but it is not responsible for his perversion and pedophilic, stalking behavior. This combined with his righteous posturing when he proposed the law against such behavior, is the psychologically fascinating aspect to this lurid scene. I don't know if anyone else ever said this, but here is my motto: "Always inspect the closet of the righteous." Of course, Freud said the same in many different ways.
