And sexual banter with a member of Congress certainly would qualify as "interesting." Which makes me all the more suspicious about the page himself. At best, Foley was already flirting with a page, and the page being uncomfortable with the advances just wanted to capture some proof. At worst, Foley was set-up. What are you talking about? You need to get all the facts before you respond. Earlier this year or late last year, parents of one page complained about Foley's advances. They were not overtly sexual but they were inappropriate behavior on the part of an adult. GOP leadership did little to corral Foley's behavior. Apparently, that did not sit well with someone and the email eventually worked its way to the press. Why now? Probably to hurt Foley's campaign chances.Although the responsibility falls squarely on Foley's shoulders, I'm not going to accept any of this sanctimony coming from the Democrats who are asking, "Were the Republicans guilty of covering up a pedophile?" Because IMO, the Democrats knew about the existence of these IM logs a long time ago. Just like Republicans probably knew about Foley's pedophilia for a while now, the Democrats probably knew about it as well. If they were truly concerned about protecting children from pedophiles, they would have come forth with the IM logs ASAP. Why would the Dems know? You understand.....the pages that work for the GOP congressmen report directly to a GOP congressman and the dem pages report directly to a dem congressman. Why would a Dem congressman know what was happening between the pages and Republican Foley. Maybe Dem pages knew something was up but why would they discuss it with a Dem congressman.........I would think they would find that very awkward, given their ages.
