Denying there is a double standard is naive. If a Democrat had been caught sending solicitous emails to pages, he would have his wrist slapped and be relegated to page 24 status by the second day. There is no question about that, imo. And that is why you see the references to the "punishment" of Barney Frank and Gerry Studds. But rather than complain about the fact that republicans are held to higher standards, I celebrate it. I'm glad he was forced to resign. And I'll be the first to call for the GOP leadership to be ousted if it is proven they knowingly enabled his behavior in any way. This would in all likelihood give the congress back to the Democrats, but it is the right thing to do. Hopefully we can salvage one party which aspires to put principle over politics.
