If I were a parent who sent my child from California, Iowa, Florida or who cares where to the care of the United States Congress as a page.....I sure hope someone's defense to scum like Foley wasn't: "Well, the age of consent in D.C. is 16".

There's no federal law on the age of consent. If Foley violated any federal law, the only thing I can think of would be sexual harassment, assuming the attentions were unwelcome, and so systematic and pervasive as to constitute a "hostile work environment" but even so, it appears that the statute of limitations for a civil rights case has run.

If the conversation took place in a state where the age of consent was higher, then maybe there's an issue there, who knows? Let the FBI investigate, that's what it's for.
