In comparison, the Foley brouhaha seems like a perfect October Surprise. After all, pedophilia and the act of covering it up is rather heinous in itself, is it not? If you were a Dem, would you want this story now or six months ago? I'd have wanted it six months ago... it would've been a huge boon for fundraising, and the resignation of several congressmen is a big enough story that it'd have an effect for an entire election cycle. I learned tonite that technically Foley is not a pedophile. A pedophile is someone who is attracted to prepubescent children; not adolescents who are 16.
