".. it would've been a huge boon for fundraising,"

And Foley probably wouldn't have the $2.7 million that the Republicans are trying to pry out of his hands before they push him out the door...

Z, > If you were a Dem, would you want this story now or six months ago? I'd have wanted it six months ago...

Now you're just discussing political strategies. Six months ago, the issue would have died out quickly and the fundraising would have easily recovered, especially given the keen fundraising skills of the Republican party.

In comparison, the Foley brouhaha seems like a perfect October Surprise. After all, pedophilia and the act of covering it up is rather heinous in itself, is it not?

If you were a Dem, would you want this story now or six months ago? I'd have wanted it six months ago... it would've been a huge boon for fundraising, and the resignation of several congressmen is a big enough story that it'd have an effect for an entire election cycle.

I learned tonite that technically Foley is not a pedophile. A pedophile is someone who is attracted to prepubescent children; not adolescents who are 16.
