"That has to be done BEFORE we can have proof of wrongdoing. "

Do you think Foley would have resigned if the IM's were fake? Would he have tried to bribe ABC with an "exclusive" if they didn't publish them? Get a clue..

It's really sad to see people pay so much attention to this affair. Foley's actions were lewd and disgusting. It would be fucking incredible if people had any level of debate about foreign affairs. The only level of debate is limited to name calling and partisanship.

I find it really amazing the whole ME is ready for a major peace deal and no one even pays attention. Iran is asking France to oversee uranium enrichment, Fatah and Hamas are battling for power so that Palestine can create a peace deal with Israel, and all the terrorists have lost all geopolitical significance.

Nah, it takes to much to talk about the real issues today since geo and his buddies get to insult a gay man. Take your best shots. I am not going to lift a finger to defend the seduction of 17 year old boys by 50 year old Senators. BTW, 17 year old boys are definitely children. Even if my son were gay, I would be fucking furious if I found out that he was seduced by a 50 year old Senator.

The rants in defense of Foley's right to have sex with males under the age of 18 is simply mind boggling. It doesn't matter how you defame Foley as a gay or a pedophile, he does not have any right to seduce impressionable young men or women that come to work for him Washington. Young people should have their sexual rights violated at work. It's different situations it can be called sexual harrassment, statutory rape, or sodomy which is a crime itself. It really doesn't matter whether the sex was consensual, Foley will be punished to the full extent of the law.

Didn't we cover all this with Michael Jackson? This conversation is so utterly offensive and obscene it doesn't deserve a place on this thread. However, I'm sure that the libs will use the controversy as a platform against the Republicans.

Here is my point. I am not asking Hastert or Boehner or anyone else to have turned him over to the FBI in 2005 based on what they claim they knew....but, and it is a big but, if they had a sense he was having "overfriendly" contact with a page...they had a duty as leaders and supervisors to investigate and take appropriate action. In private employment, you can bet that would have been the case. If in a private company a senior executive had "overfriendly" e-mails with a 16 year old intern, asking for a picture, etc.....it WOULD be dealt with, if HR was tipped off.

Instead, no investigation. No oversight. And...Hastert left this guy as head of a sub-committee on children's issues. After being told of "overfriendly" e-mails with a "child".

I don't expect Rocket Science. I just want common sense oversight and due dilligence. You know, like in the private sector. No FBI required.
