It never ceases to amaze me how the lives of others are so easily tossed to the wolves in order to save the King's throne.

There is a philosophy that I once read in an officer's manual for the US Navy. Basically, it stated that one must always "save" the highest ranking officer no matter the price. In otherwords, lower ranking officers must take the heat in order to protect their superiors.

I forgot the exact words but it stated that one must save his ranking officer at any price.

I read this with a co-worker who was the wife of an FBI special agent. We both were pretty shocked but that's what was said. Her husband, a former Navy officer, confirmed it.

I wonder if someone will step up and take the fall for Hastert.
