A google search brings up only one Corus bank, which is located in Chicago. All of its branches appear to be within the geographic area of the home office. Does it have a sizable portfolio of condo loans?

I am unsure of the relationship you infer between the deposit rate structure and condo loans. If you are suggesting that Corus is anticipating prepayments of specific loan types during the six-month to two-year timeframe, your suggestion has possibilities. It could be that it is shortening the duration of liabilities to match anticipated prepayments, but we’ll never know.
