I think my boycott of Citgo affects Citgo like my boycott of Charmin (not actually a boycott, just don't use it because I hate the commercials) affects Charmin, but for political reasons, not personal reasons.

It's not unlike the disinvestment campaign against South Africa many years ago, or the disinvestment campaign against Sudan now, or the disinvestment campaign against Israel now, or refusing to eat certain brands of tuna because of concern for dolphins, or Religious Right refusing to buy Proctor and Gamble because they think the symbol is devil worshipping.

We all make choices when we make purchases. Sometimes our choices are determined by personal preferences, sometimes by politics.

You call it "feel good," I call it scruples.
