It's worth the extra 3 1/2 miles for scruples.

But that's where you're missing the point by looking to narrowly, I think. Venezuela has oil. Oil is scarce. Demand is high. Someone will be giving Chavez that dollar. If you don't want it to be you, fine, but he's still going to get that dollar. If you want to hurt Chavez, you have to deny him your dollar for some product that he can't sell just as easily elsewhere or you have to get all the elsewhere's on board the oil-dollar boycott. People can do without Danish cheese. They can eat some other cheese or no cheese at all. OTOH, people will buy all the oil that Venezuela can get out of the ground. The situations aren't parallel and wishful thinking does not make them so.
