Besides chasing underage boys, the problem for Foley is that he was a closeted gay. He'd have NEVER won a Republican seat in his district as an open gay. So, he had to deceive his constituents as to his sexuality.

He's not the ONLY Repugnican doing this, but then, it's not that hard to fool the Repugnican voters!

Dems can be openly gay and still run for office, as Barney Frank has proven over and over.
