Citgo is saying that 7-11 didn't dump them, they dumped 7-11!

I imagine that the deal has been in the works for a long time. 7-11 (Southern Corp or some such) sold Citgo off in a couple of installments to the Venezuelans. I suspect this move was, if not part of a long term strategy, at least anticipated for some time.

The 7-Eleven contract did not fit within CITGO's strategy to balance sales with refinery production after the sale of its interest in a Houston area refinery.

I didn't know about the refinery sale. That could be ominous. Scruple boycotts notwithstanding, we'd better hope that they don't start shipping our current oil supply somewhere else.
