Altair competitor will be Yorkfield. vr-zone has some incredible parameters of it:

12MB L2 as 2x6MB. i wonder why split, BTW. I guess Intel's idea of shared cache stales to - well doesn't scale beyond 2.

The clock speed is actually what would be scary, if true - 3.46 - 3.73 for the Extreme Edition.
vr-zone.com

Fortunately, VR Zone is one of the least credible sites.

good to see the details of the desktop roadmap. I am curious if the first server versions of K8l are still scheduled for Q2 2007.

I hope they are.

Also, I hope they can clock DC Antares higher than 2.9 GHz. Conroe will likely be at 3.2 or even 3.4GHz at the same time.

First tests will show how far they can go with clocking. IPC is more interesting thing here than raw GHz. Just my 2c.
