I thought I was doing good to grit my eyeballs without novacaine when I went to the dentist.

LOL... dentist are another area altogether... dentists are born dreaming of ways to dissect the mouth and put it back together again. They come equipped with a built in conversation..."Open wide, rinse, spit", "I'm sorry, I don't get involved with the finances however you may talk to the secretary at the desk", and "see you in ten days to two weeks." They smile at you with surgically straightened and brightly whitened teeth so that one must put on dark glasses to avoid the glare to the eyes.

As far as the surgery goes... they put up a 'tent' or blockade of some type so that I couldn't reach around. My part was to tell them that if they pushed what felt like a huge rough bath towel further up my chest through my stomach I was going to yell... but their monitors already told them the anaesthesia was wearing off and they were applying themselves to correcting that little error of time assumption on their part .... ;)
