I looked but couldn't find too much info on the international component of SciAtl's employees. However, they had about 7,700 employees when Cisco acquired them and about 25% of their sales were overseas. So if that translates into employees, then roughly 1,900 of them were overseas, not necessarily India offshored.

No matter how you slice it, the evidence suggests that Cisco is increasing offshoring quite dramtically in the last few years.

Anyway, why are you fighting the obvious conclusion? Do you think offshoring is a sign of bad management? As a shareholder and as someone who works in consulting and manages large offshore teams, I actually think offshoring is a good thing for a company's bottom line, if it is handled correctly. However, Lizzie and I agree that offshoring R&D engineering is not so smart, unless you want to virtually guarantee the theft of Intellectual Property.
