combjelly,

Umm, ok. Fordham thought it was important enough to contact Hastert's office. Why not address that issue?

Sure there was smoke, if he did. But what exactly did he have? What exactly did he present?'

"This guy Foley is acting a little strange"
"Strange? In what way"
"He is very friendly with former pages"
"So?"
"Kind of strange, pays a lot of attention to them"
"So what exactly did he do?"
"I don't know what he did, he is just contacting them"
"Come back when you have something concrete"
"Ok"

I am guessing here, what might have happened. For anyone, any employer, for example, to take action, you need a very concrete fact or a concrete accusation of a person willing to stand behind the accusation. You can't go on inuendo, especially about a (closet) homosexual. Homosexuals seem to be acquiring an untouchable status because everything these days is discrimination or homophobia.

I am really curious what it was that Fordham presented.

Joe
