Yeah, but the big deal here, at least as far as it comes to Foley and ignoring the leadership for a second, is that HE was the head of the committee that was making sure that what HE was doing was illegal!

So there is at least something redeeming about Foley. At least when he was thinking with his big head, he knew the conduct was wrong.

I certainly have more respect for someone preaching virtue and failing to live up to it compared to someone else preaching vice.

The irony of that is unbounded. The biggest failure of the leadership was allowing him to head that caucus, despite knowing about this since 2003.
