Reminds me of the end of "Towering Inferno" that I saw on cable last night for the 165th time; the building owner's evil son, who cut corners on building materials that caused the fire, is trapped on the roof with a hundred others. All the women and children are evacuated by a rope-cage gizmo; not content to wait his turn, he rushes the cage with some others, kicks them off as the cage begins to slide down the rope, and an explosion from the building sends him and the cage plunging to the ground 80 stories below. Pretty much what is happening now on the Republican side.
