yes, I think you've got it. Bully (and Wannabees) revival and latest psychop purchases such as Blackberrys (see RIMM moonshot), plasma TV's, mp3 players, etc.

I watch unemployment claims very closely. They are a slightly lagging indicator but they are reported weekly and aren't subject to manipulation. I've thought the economic deterioration would show up as declining cash out refinances, lower retail sales, higher unemployment. So far, these are all much stronger than I expected at this stage.

I liked your "drive off the cliff" comment this morning. I think that's exactly what the average consumer is doing.
