I must admit it is entirely different sort of animal than I had first thought. I had pictured it as sort of a medium low grade mine thingie with some hard to extract silver credits, but its picture is wholly different.

Yes, judging from the stock action, market cap, and OTCBB status, you would think MMGG was a marginal speculative play rather than a late-stage, high-grade, world-class zinc deposit with very high-grade silver that was historically direct shipped without milling. Once the Amex listing becomes effective, it should get the respect it deserves and move up toward more appropriate valuation. Those able to get it now at these ridiculous prices will be well rewarded over the long term, IMO.

This makes me think that any sort of predicted recession is oversold or at least will be strongly ameliorated by Asian demand.

Yes, despite the steep selloff of commodity stocks because of fears of a U.S. slowdown, a U.S. recession won't even put a dent in the zinc supply-demand situation. Asian zinc consumption is 5 times U.S. consumption and growing fast. China consumption grew over 40% in 2004-2005. It's no coincidence that the zinc LME inventories have fallen precipitously since China became a net importer of zinc in 2004:

Patient investors who focus on the long term and can withstand the volatility will do very well.
