You know, Rough, I have been writing about the overwhelming success the world has made against the terrorists. It finally took Israel's bold offensive in Lebanon to show the whole world that the terrorists can be beaten on their own turf. On top of that, the moderates realize their entire economic way of life is in jeopordy as the US seeks to replace OPEC oil reserves. Adding risk premium to the price of oil is no longer working for them, although the Nigerians are hell bent on ruining their oil reserves by killing all the Western oil workers. I can see why Islamic extremism is such an appropriate movement for the bloodthirst rebels in areas like Somalia, Nigeria, and some of the other oil producing African countries. They are fucking nuts.

The moderate support for the extremists is no longer viable because of the increasing competition for oil reserves. Saudi Arabia isn't the only place to buy oil anymore, thanks to our friends in Canana and Mexico. Geopolitically, OPEC is losing it's influence over the world oil markets. Their support for the terrorists created such a backlash against OPEC that the US is seeking alternative sources of oil. Russia is becoming a much bigger producer on the open market.

I think the military deserves a huge welcome home party as NATO takes over the war in Afghanistan and Iraq takes control of it's own military. Our leadership in the war on terror is over, although the terrorists are going to be around for a long time. However, the moderates and the governments have survived the attacks against a normal way of life, which is still highly unusual by Western standards of civil rights.
