I don't think we disagree on anything - Gem was responding to the items in quotes with an eloquent defense much like your own. We all agree that people in a position of responsibility in either party have higher ethical standards to maintain. I have seen some people try to muddle sexual orientation with conduct, as in gays should not be anywhere near minors, when the real issue is that ANYONE who misbehaves toward a minor should be stopped, and high officials who do it (or cover it up) should lose their coveted positions.
