They would rather see the perpetrators of the shameful behavior and coverups pressured to resign so that they, presumably more principled people, could take up the leadership.

I still maintain that a Congress with Frist-Hastert-Reid-Pelosi leadership is pretty much at the bottom of the barrel, and the results are clear.
