Maybe you've been asleep for the past 10 years, but stock prices long ago stopped having anything to do with earnings.

A stockholder will care, because all this will result in Apple having to restate (lowered) earnings. How does that not affect the stock?

it doesn't affect the stock because it happened from 1997-2002.

Why would they have to restate lowered earnings for 2006?

I can see lowing the earnings for 2002, but why 2006? Seems like a nevermind to me.
