Mr. Rivet stated in the Q2 CC that AMD's Q3 operating expenses would approximate Q2's, which, if you recall included a significant and unexpected "marketing expense" blip.

If true, and if AMD's revenues increase by a minimum of $200M as I expect, then AMD's Q3 will surprise significantly on the upside. (That's precisely why I'm accumulating Jan 40's, as I expect a serious amount of catch up by AMD before Q4 earnings.)

Just absurdity that AMD has a market cap of $12B and INTC $120B. (Comparative Q3 results may well prove to be the "data" that moves AMD significantly towards 20% OF INTC's market cap!)

Will AMD absolutely blow out Q3 estimates? I can't see it any other way, if Rivet's flat operating expense projection in Q3 stands up!

capacity issue, and it's not because of production problems

Two comments:

1. This fits with the "B/O" we see pretty much across the board in the Reseller Mike weekly data:

epscontest.com

(sort by "on order" for Disti II).

2. The strong move to dual-core must eat up some capacity.
