Plantlife, > So why then is the Quad Core Opteron being selected for Crays Supercomputers

You can make a supercomputer out of anything. Doesn't change the fact that Intel will be first to quad-core and will ship at least a million of them before AMD ships the first one.

> Forget about the B.S. that it's cheaper and has better yields, that isn't it now nor has it ever been the proper criteria.

ROTFLMAO

> So why is it that the brilliant Intel design teams can't duplicate the DCA, after all, they managed to copy the 64bit extensions and no execute anti-virus codes.

One who can't even get his facts straight on DCA, the importance of yields and cost, the importance of benchmarks, and the benefits and drawbacks of PCI-E vs. HyperTransport shouldn't be judging the brilliance of Intel's design teams. Maybe said "super-genius" could judge the brilliance of Intel's management decisions, but then again, any old dummy could do that.
