When Jobs came back to Apple the company was in the toilet and worth approximately 1 billion. 3 years later after an amazing turn around and a multi-billion increase in value share holders won big time.

Jobs took a $1 annual salary. He was given a $40 million dollar jet 1 year after Apple's worth increased 4 billion. Regardless of wether he knew about the options or not he was fairly compensated and stock holders that bought in 1999 and have held until now have been rewarded in spades.

Apple is better off with Jobs then without him.

Comparing this options deal with the likes of Worldcom and Enron proves nothing but continues your great entertainment value.
