"Recent comments by the Sunnis suggest they want the US to keep the shiite police from attacking them. They both hate us and recognize the need for our support, just like in a violent domestic argument among drug abusers. The couple ends up blaming the cops for everything. It will be years, maybe never, before they stop the violent hatred. The best I can hope for now is a kind of personal intolerance with an agreement of the major forces to back off on using organized violent forces against each other in the near future.
