There's no way that there will ever be a good way to "screen" politicians for perversion. The DC political class constitutes a very large population. As a result, they will be a microcosm of the population at large which, unfortunately, includes some very good and some very bad folks.

Because of the educational bar, we will rarely see any outrightly violent politicians in DC. Otherwise, they are just like us, warts and all.

I think sexual escapades might be a bit more prevalent in politics than elsewhere because, as Kissinger suggested, power is an aphrodisiac. HK might have thought so, but there is another side to that coin, i.e., the notion that some powerful people believe that they can use their power to extract sexual favors, much like Clinton did. But that dynamic exists everywhere.

The Dems are just lucky it didn't happen to them while they were in power. It could have just as easily taken place to one of their guys on a Dem Speaker's watch.
