But you'd be denounced as a bigot for that. So be it. When I worked in Probation, and later in Protective Services and Foster Care, I took plenty of abuse. When young people are involved, you can take a lot. If you are comfortable with your decisions, it shouldn't bother you. And as I said, I'd rather see error on the side of protection than be wrong by taking no action. The friendly emails seem to include requests for pictures and descriptions- that is a step beyond what I would consider a friendly note. Even if the FBI didn't find sufficient legal bases to investigate, couldn't Hastert or other party members taken Foley aside and warned him- or let the Page board know about it? At least there would be a small fig leaf covering them; right now they seem rather exposed as having done nothing. Dunno about all the figures- they are all over the map for all these things, as we mentioned before. I try not to make generalizations, and would rather be diligent about looking for suspicious behaviors on the part of all the adults rather than a particular group, and dealing with them before they have a chance to blow up as this did.
