Laying double digits in pro football is always a hairy proposition because of garbage time in the 4th quarter. I think the last time I laid double digits and took the favorite was 49ers/Chargers Super Bowl. I believe the Niners were laying anywhere between 18-20 points. At that point most Super Bowls were blowouts so playing the favorite didn't seem as intimidating

College is an entirely different story since it's in their best interest to run up the score if presented

But then again, look at my performance to date this year. Taking the opposite side would have been a good strategy year to date

It seems that my record is bad when the spreads are so large. I take the points and take teams I wouldn't normally pick, and those teams get destroyed. And then the few times when I don't (Titans vs. Colts) don't work out for me either.
