They're going to have to pay attention because if they don't they're gonna get swept out. The wave is growing. Last week I was talking to a buddy of mine down at the legion. We're talking about Rumsfeld, you know, "you go to war with the army you have not the army you want". That was as a revealing a statement as you'll ever get out of Rummy. But it says plenty about the way he had to draw on the guard to make his plan work. Even with the post 9-11 enlistments way up. Now you see the enlistments way down, and they're taking anybody now. They can't go to a draft army, because there isn't enough support amongst the people for that. Bush approvals being in the low 40's high 30's. Lot of those guard guys are older and they were probably asked to do a lot. Having older guys there probably added to the death tolls. Meanwhile over at Wars are Us, the cash register keeps on a ringing.
