DOW at all time highs along with the mega financial institutions like JP Morgan, Bank America and Citicorp making highs constantly? Credit collapse and end of world any day so why is this happening? Stay grounded my friend life is short. Lots of direct attacks by the deflation/soft depression crowd. Tima and GST make some great points. We aren't the enemy. Sad you feel that way. Needless to say costs for me and others are easily up 30-40% from 2002 and that is the real world I live in and see.

Convenient of you to go back to 2002 instead of looking at what is happening here and now. You accused me of looking forward to never, now that things are happening you discard them looking back and back. I agree you are not the enemy. No one is the enemy. Yet you are the one calling me a pimp not the other way around. GST occasionaly has a point. But he claims I never addressed questions which I have answered 5 times minimum. The problem is that he and you and other do not accept my answers. That is fine, but it is a blatant lie to say I did not answer.

He is the one that has repeatedly refused to answer the question as to what basket of goods and services he is looking at when referring to inflation.

And you my friend repeatedly go way out of your way to distort my position. I do not do that to either you or GST. Furthermore I have never denied that costs are up from 2002. I have only stated where I believe costs are headed going forward. Like it or not oil is down, copper is down and home prices are off 20-30% in many places. Restaurant prices are falling. But you will not admit what is happening now. Like Lereah you keep pointing out that prices are up over a period of time and that period of time requires you to go further and further back. The real world I am in says prices are falling significantly on houses and oil and trucks and restaurants. The real world I am in says that the dollar bottomed exactly when I said it would.

I've also been to places like Denver and Atlanta in recent months. You among others love to sensationalize in blogs how the sky is falling in these markets because of record foreclosures, speculators and realtors in a world of hurt, housing collapsing, everyone losing their jobs, soup lines coming soon ect... Not so at all except for a few.. Perhaps you meed to travel more and see the country or the world. The planes are filled constantly. Hotels are booked solid.. Just the world I see and I'm probably more gloomier on our future than 95% of people out there because of the stupidity in this age of credit excess and our ballooning deficits. It would be scary to see you or Bigs in a room with an eternal optimist. Peace my old friend..

I see once again you can not make even a simple reply without distorting my position. I defy you to show me where I ever said "soup lines". Planes are indeed filled but that is because there are fewer flights. Airlines are still losing money are they not? If there is all this pricing power why are planes still losing money. I just booked a round trip flight tonight to Baltimore. Oct 25 Oct 28 Round trip $138. Anyone making any money on that? Nor did I say "everyone would lose their job". I do say that unemployment will rise sharply. That is vastly different than "soup lines and everyone will lose their job". The fact that hotels are booked solid does not prove much of anything (IF it is happening which I doubt) except that "Bully" is still doing well. But still I doubt your assertion of "solid bookings".

Yes people are employed but real wages are down. The savings rate is -1.6% and has nowhere to go but up. High paying jobs are being replaced by low paying retail jobs at walmart and Pizza hut. As for the DOW, you sound just like the guy in March of 2000 suggesting the economy is fine because the stock market is up. All the signals are flashing red including M1 which is contracting.

I really do not care what you do or say or believe except when it comes to distorting my position or calling me a pimp. But you could not even get thru this post without numerous distortions of what I have said.
