The White House, caught off guard by a leading Republican senator who said the situation in Iraq was “drifting sideways,” responded cautiously on Friday, with a spokeswoman for President Bush stopping short of saying outright that Mr. Bush disagreed with the assessment

When you think about it, Warner's assessment is absurd. "Drifting sideways" usually is used to describe a situation where there is no progress and what movement does exist is leading nowhere but tends to be innocuous and harmless. That's not what is happening in Iraq at all.........the place is hell on earth and is falling into total chaos. He then goes on to say:

""I assure you, in two or three months, if this thing hasn't come to fruition and if this level of violence is not under control and this government able to function, I think it's a responsibility of our government internally to determine: Is there a change of course that we should take?" Warner said. "And I wouldn't take off the table any option at this time.""

Giving a timetable of 2-3 months suggests that something explosive is about to happen, and yet he dribbles off into pablum.

John Warner is a fucking white man who is afraid to tell the gipper that he is incompetent and his war is a holy hell of a mess that is doing far more bad than good. John Warner is a traitor to this country for not speaking clearly the truth.

I can not believe some people want him to be president.
