Try being a woman who left Washington with a husband who left office in disgrace.

Try being an intelligent woman who under that heavy weight and the disdain of the Republicans for the Health Bill she tried to pass(among other things) and run for office in New York State...

Try being that woman who goes to a Congress controlled by that party that has all this disdain for you, be accepted and try to influence policies...

I thought she was a panderer too until I read this article in the Atlantic Monthly which was very objective about her.

It did not support her for presidential race but did elucidate the kind of pressures that she was under, the mistakes she feels that she has made. How she worked to gain the respect of some of those Senators who disliked her the most, DeLay,
Bryd to name two. She was masterful and she may look as though she panders but she is succeeding in making a dent.

Total respect for her in that political jungle that is Capital Hill where EVERYONE panders in one way or another.
