I have credit card debt but at 0-3%. But not as much as $43k (actually $7k). I was recently surprised to learn how big the credit lines available on credit cards were for people who earned incomes equal to mine or lower. I don't understand how they got such large credit lines as I have a good credit score and my US credit history goes back to 1990. But somewhere maybe there is some flag saying that I am not a US citizen or permanent resident?
