Re: I think the issue is upgrade to QC in Q3/2007 which brings HT3 - that's not in the specs for AM2, AM2+ isn't introduced until then, that leaves Socket F to offer that upgrade path.

According to the roadmap there is a Socket-F+ for HT 3.0, just like AM2+.

Certainly possible. I still think it would have been better to run with HT2 until AM2+ was ready.
