Wishful thinking. LOL!

Look what has happened to Bush and Rumsfeld and Cheney for their wishful thinking about winning the war quickly in Afghanistan and in the Middle East!

They thought that American superior weaponry could easily defeat the Taliban by Christmas 2001 ! I am sure you know what happened next: Five years and billions of dollars later, that wishful thinking trio have quietly admitted defeat by getting NATO and the Canadians to take over from the Americans.

Bush and Cheney and Rumsfeld again thought that Iraq would be a cinch. Was their wishful thinking ever justified!!! LOL!!! Instead of roses, red carpets of welcome and hugs, the Americans got ambushes and bullets and bombs & etc. and many of them came home in body bags.

Again, look what happened in Lebanon! Despite Bush giving the
Israelis an extension of 10 days to finish off Hezbollah, the Israelis failed. Result: embarrassment and humiliation for the US: the US lost prestige and is now condemned worldwide as a rogue nation! What price wishful thinking?

To be sure, it now looks as if Bush is an eternal fool and masochist. As the saying goes, "A fool never learns: he hangs around to see how much he can take."

Ann..It could be helpful to the Repubs to lose the House. At least they'll have "someone" to blame for how things are going at that time.

As far as "liberal congressional nonsense", I think we've had THAT in spades since the Repubs got control of government. Since the Repubs got control they've proven themselves to be the BIGGEST spenders since the Johnson Administration. Look at the figures on "discretionary spending" since Bush got elected. Look at the deficits we're running up.

Liberal USED to mean BIG spender....so NOW the Repubs seem to be the most BLATANT liberals in my lifetime.
