What do you make of our mega financial institutions hitting new all time highs even with the yield curve so inverted for a long time? What about real inflation running much higher than the 90's and long term interest rates several hundred basis points lower at the same time. How much does the spread and growth of US consumerism have to do with it? How about any attempt at monetization of the broad money supply in unison by the G8? Such a strong cash position of corporate America, the enormous wealth of those at the top and equity base of financial institutions offset the coastal housing bust, leverage of the masses in the US and as long term rates remain tame all will be well could be what Mr Market is telling us?
