I've never been so happy to have my own team had their heads handed to them. It's good for Detroit, it's good for Baseball and believe it or not... it will be good for the Yankee's in the long run. They've got a few aging stars, making big bucks, that are now on their downward slope. I loved the game last night. Have you EVER seen a team celebrate with the fans like that...ever? Detroit is a once great American city that helped build this country. Detroit needed that and I couldn't be happier for them. I had goose bumps on my arms and tears in my eyes... and I've been a die-hard Yankee fan since the age of six. Never have I seen a team say -- "Thank You" to the fans like the Tigers did last night. Did you see Kenny Rogers on top of the dug out... pouring champagne on the head of a Detroit Cop, spraying the fans and high-fiving the crowd? That was what sport is all about. It is one of the great vehicles of human emotion. A World Series Victory, a Stanley Cup, or a Super Bowl can help transform an entire city....and Detroit needs it. The State of Michigan and Detroit in particular have been hammered hard by the "new global economy." I couldn't be happier for the City of Detroit, the Tigers and their fans. I hope they win it all.... it'll be a great story. 119 losses just three years ago. They were not just the worst team in baseball... they were one of the worst teams in baseball HISTORY! An amazing transformation...and an endorsement of how important mindset and attitude are. Pudge Rodriguez made a huge difference as did Jim Leyland. And it's going to be a loooooong, cold winter for my Yankee's...and especially for Mr. Alex Rodriguez. I like A-Rod... but, Mr. October he aint. Sadly, for all he's done... his dismal post-season performance haunts him. Jeter even in losing showed what an incredible "gamer" he is... even with all he's been acknowledged for... he's still under-rated in my book. An old-school, class act...clutch player. For Yankee & Cub fans alike... There's always next year. SOTB
