There "might" have been more terrorists if we had just invaded Afghanistan, but I don't think so. If we had just gone into Afghanistan and secured the country completely and made it a better place to live, then there could have been more, but I think they might have decided that the opportunities it offered would be acceptable and amenable to their religion.

YEAH...It will be a disaster if we pull out, just like it's a disaster right now. THE disaster was going in unprepared in the first place. If Bush really believes the intelligence reports, then how come he isn't calling for 200 THOUSAND more troops to secure the country. They are pulling troops out of Anbar to help in Baghdad, so Anbar goes down the tubes.

If we had gone into Afghanistan and done things right, we would have had leverage with Iran and N. Korea and Syria and every other country in the world. We just had to do things right there and we would have been a TRUE SUPER POWER.

We squandered that opportunity and now we are more of a JOKE than a superpower.
