The price paid seems to vary, but $1800 per eye doesn't sound unusual.

I normally try to avoid spending that much on just about anything besides houses and cars but I figure for decades of not having to mess with glasses or contacts anymore it was worth it.

When I was a lot younger it probably wouldn't have been a good idea because funds were tighter at that time, the procedure was perhaps not quite as good, and your eyes are to likely to change when your young.

If I was a lot older it probably wouldn't have made sense either as I'd have fewer years to benefit, and also because your eyesight changes when your older. But after 25 and before 45, seems to be a good section of your life for people who are candidates for the surgery.
