re: And a crook that wants a firearm can't be stopped, especially when the government has tons of firearms itself and is unwilling to lay them down for obvious reasons.

What a wacko analogy! Your mind works in mysterious ways. Are you saying the US is North Korea's "government"?

So says the NRA. I'm not a fan of the NRA, by the way, but it's scary to see the left stand firm on small arms control, yet surrender when it comes to controlling nuclear weapons.

You're not going to get nations to stop looking for nukes when the major world powers have more nukes than we know what to do with. The right thinks America is this country bordering on sainthood. Trust me, we don't look saintly when we invade countries like its our devine provence. On top of it, Bush openly threatened these nations with invasion suggesting they were next on the list.

So now what would you do? This superpower is invading countries that have dictatorships and says your next on the list. Sit there with your finger up your ass or develop a nuke? Serious question.......looking forward to your answer.

Meanwhile Bush made his threat and then went back to running on his treadmill and playing frisbee on the WH lawn.
