I drove from Niagara to Toronto yesterday, and i was stunned at the crowds of people in Churches, there was a Church on the side road and they had the whole parking lot full and cars parked on the side of the side road for almost a mile. Now we went by 20 minutes before the service should have started, so you all might take a look at church parking lots next weekend. The real measure of the effect of the Problem with Muslims isn't in the mouthings of effete liberal spokespeople, but in the increases in church attendance. If the Churches are getting full, people are getting scared.

Is there an official jihad count somewhere? How many does this make worldwide?

Call For Jihad As Ethiopian Troops Go Into Somalia
The Telegraph (UK) ^ | 10-10-2006 | Mike Pflanz

Radical Muslims controlling much of southern Somalia yesterday declared jihad, or holy war, on Ethiopia after accusing its troops of capturing a town taken by the fundamentalists last month.

The 750 Ethiopians were among forces loyal to the Somalia's weak, transitional president, Abdullahi Yusuf. They seized Buur Hakaba without firing a shot early yesterday.

The Islamic Courts Union responded by stepping up their long-running threats to wage war with Ethiopia, which stands accused of sending thousands of troops into Somalia to defend Mr Yusuf's toothless administration.

"Starting from today, we have declared jihad against Ethiopia," said the union's deputy leader, Sheikh Sharif Ahmed.

"Heavily-armed Ethiopian troops have invaded Somalia. They have captured Buur Hakaba," he said. "History shows that Somalis always win when they are attacked from outside. We will counter them soon. I urge all the Somali people to wage holy war against the Ethiopians."

Western governments fear that if reports persist of Ethiopian involvement in Somalia's internal power wrangles, foreign jihadis will use Somalia as a battleground for Islam against the West.

Many Somalis see Ethiopia as a Christian imperialist power. There are unconfirmed reports of major operations against ethnic Somalis living in Ethiopia's south-eastern Ogaden province, further inflaming the situation.

It is unclear whether Mr Ahmed's forces are in a position to attack Ethiopian territory directly, but his troops are massed along the countries' shared border. Eritrea, Ethiopia's arch-foe, is widely suspected to be arming the fundamentalists as part of a proxy war that may plunge the Horn of Africa into an unprecedented regional conflict.

Mr Ahmed accused Ethiopia of ordering 65,000 of its soldiers on to Somalian soil, a claim Addis Ababa denies.

Solomon Abebe, Ethiopia's foreign ministry spokesman, dismissed the comments as the "usual propaganda".

"Ethiopia wishes to live in peace and good neighbourly relations with a united and peaceful Somali republic. It has no other ulterior motives," Mr Solomon said.

Yesterday's offensive was the first successful counter-attack against the powerful Courts Union, which has introduced sharia law.
